Purpose of the role – The Mechanic is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all vehicles and associated equipment either run by petrol, diesel or gas
Minimum Requirements
• Trade Tested Diesel Mechanic Preferred
• Qualifications in Automotive Engineering an added advantage
• Minimum 3-5 years working experience as a Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanic
• Previous experience in a high volume / time critical service provider’s
• Experience with Heavy Vehicles across a variety of manufacturers
• Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
• Experience and understanding of required National Regulations and compliance to these regulations
• Valid Driver’s License
Duties include but are not limited to
• Maintain all aspects of a vehicle to relevant transport legislation and standards including greasing, lubrication, and oil changes, dismantling and removing engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms and other components, and checking parts
• Action all driver daily vehicle reports (DVR) and file as required
• Perform fault diagnostics to detect mechanical and electrical faults for the whole of asset
• Carry out scheduled preventative and corrective maintenance to the supplier’s standards or better
• Ensure all tools and equipment are safe to use and stored correctly and in a clean condition
• Test drive and/or operate equipment to ensure repair has been completed correctly
Mechanics Wanted in West & South Australia
- Critical Experience
- Previous experience in a high volume / time critical service provider’s
- Experience with Heavy Vehicle’s across a variety of manufacturers
- Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team
- Experience and understanding of required National Regulations and compliance to these regulations
- Critical Licenses & Qualifications
- Certificate III in Engineering – Mechanical Trade (AUS); National Certificate in Automotive Engineering – Level 4 (NZ) (or equivalent)
- Heavy Rigid (HR) (AUS) or Class 4 (NZ) Licence (as a minimum)
- Assets
- Action all driver daily vehicle reports (DVR) and file as required

- Ensure safe work practices and adherence to policies and procedures including Absolutes and Lifesaving Rules as well as reporting of unsafe practices and potential and actual incidents
- Undertake any other duties, accountabilities and responsibilities as directed
